NEW UNIFORM

SPRINGBOKS’ WHITE PANTS When the South African Rugby team comes to New Zealand next year its players will have a uniform different from that hitherto worn by Springbok teams. The jersey will be as before—green, with gold collar and the springbok head on the left breast—but the shorts will be white and the stockings will be green with two gold hoops round the top. Previously the South Africans have played in black shorts and stockings. The South African Rugby Board has decided also to equip its players with ties, blazers, caps, and scarves. The tie will be of green with little springboks on it. The blazers and caps will be green, with gold stripes. The scarves will be of white wool, 54 inches long and 12 inches wide, with gold and green bands at the ends and green and gold tassels alternating. The last Springbok team returned from Great Britain with such scarves, but no official quite knew where the players had obtained them. Now, however, they will be part of the official equipment.
