Mrs Simpson’s first husband was Commander Earl Winfield Spencer, of the United States Navy, whom she divorced and married Ernest Simpson, a Canadian graduate of Harvard University who is now a London Stockbroker with a sumptuous home in Bryanston Square. Before she married Mrs Simpson was Miss Wallis ("Wally”) Warfield, of Baltimore.
