WOMEN’S DIVISION
INVERCARGILL BRANCH. At the monthly meeting of the Invercargill branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union, Mrs Tokan presided over a small attendance of members. The secretary reported that 40 new books had been added to the library and it was decided that 40 more be purchased this month. Arrangements were made for a bring and buy sale in aid of branch funds. Miss Apple, a Home Science lecturer from America, who is travelling through New Zealand under the auspices of the Association of Country Education, would speak. All women were invited to attend this lecture. Mr G. J. Reed spoke on his trip to the United States where he covered a large area of country in six days, travelling from San Francisco to Portland, Oregon and back. Mr Reed was thanked for this interesting travel talk.
