RED CROSS SOCIETY

MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. At the monthly meeting of the executive of the Invercargill Red Cross Society there were present: Mrs J. G. Petrie (president) and Mesdames A. Hanan, F. Bartlett and A. Gray and Miss M. A. Hunter. Applications for assistance were dealt with. Members reported having visited the Southland hospital weekly. At present there were seven soldier patients undei - treatment. Miss A. E. McNaughton, the Riverton representative, reported having visited the Wallace hospital where at present there were four soldier patients. Complimentary tickets had been forwarded to the soldier patients by the Southland Rugby Football Union and the Southland Wrestling Association and the secretary was instructed to write to the union and the association expressing the society’s appreciation.
