NATIONAL SAVINGS IN BRITAIN
(British Official Wireless.) (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) Rugby, September 19. The vice-chairman of the National Savings Movement estimates the savings of small investors at £2,848,000,000. This sum includes £584,000,000 in the Post Office Savings Bank, £242,000,000 in National Savings Certificates and £1,515,000,000 in building societies, friendly, industrial and provident societies and industrial assurances.
