FOUND DEAD IN SYDNEY STREET
YOUNG NEW ZEALAND MAN. Sydney, September 19. An injury received in New Zealand about a month ago is believed to have paused the death yesterday of Avon (Alexander West, aged 24, who arrived 'in Australia three weeks ago. West’s body was found in a street in the suburb of Waterloo. A few minutes earlier he had been seen walking along the street dressed in pyjamas and an overcoat and evidently in pain. A Government medical officer found that he 'died from a fractured skull, although -there was no external fracture.
West, who is thought to have been a boxer in New Zealand, had complained of feeling ill both on the trip over and since his arrival, although he had been working every day. Inquiries are to be made in New Zealand and arrangements have been made to send the body home.
