The Mayoress advises that this fund will definitely close at the end of the present month, and it is hoped that the women of Invercargill will make a final effort to make the contribution to this object worthy of the reputation of the city. As a result of small contributions by the women of the Dominion, it is intended to have a portrait of her Majesty Queen Mary hung in the New Zealand National Art Gallery in Wellington.
