BLIND DRIVING BY MOTORISTS
(United Press Association.) Ashburton, August 14. “You were driving blind. Is that a sensible thing to do? So long as motorists persist in driving blind I can only advise cyclists and pedestrians to keep off the roads otherwise they will be murdered. That’s all one can say it is—murder,” said the Magistrate, Mr Orr Walker, in fining a motorist who was charged with negligent driving and who pleaded he was dazzled by approaching car lights in heavy rain. Travelling at ten miles an hour he had knocked down a woman.
