OBITUARY
MISS A. T. SOMERVILLE. After a successful teaching career extending over 23 years, Miss Agnes Tweedie Somerville died suddenly recently. She was educated at Mabel Bush School and her ability as a scholar was soon evident. She won a scholarship and then entered the Southland Girls’ High School, where she continued her studies. Her first teaching appointment was at Five Rivers School. Later she was at Mabel Bush, Ngatimoti and Clandeboye, proving herself an able and conscientious teacher. She was an ardent member of the Presbyterian Church and a Sunday School teacher, whose instruction and fine example were an inspiration and guidance to the children. She was keenly interested in sports meetings, playreading and amateur acting.
