Sir, —So the Power Board is borrowing £BOOO from the Bank and £lO,OOO from their reserves to pay for loss on the year’s working instead of levying a rate. No doubt they are quite happy, or the six of them who carried the resolution are. Like the man who met his friend one day and exclaimed: I am the happiest man in town. “Why?” said his friend. “Because I have just borrowed enough money to pay all my debts!” —Yours, etc.,
