FOOTBALL MATCH In perfect weather and before a record attendance, a football match— Ringway v. Fairfax—for a cup presented by Mr A. McPherson was played at Fairfax, on Wednesday afternoon. Ringway winning by 10 points (two converted tries) to 3 (one penalty goal). The Rev. Father Henley was referee, and Messrs T. Sheridan and J. Millar linesmen.
The Fairfax basketball A team journeyed to Otautau, and won the match by 10 goals to 5. On the same day the Fairfax B team was defeated by Waipango by 14 goals to 7.
Mr W. Gaitt, controlled the game. There is an abundance of feed-tur-nips, hay and chou moullier in this district, and stock of all kinds are wintering well.
