FORTY POUNDS OF FAT WENT LIKE MAGIC

YOUNG WOMAN’S SUCCESS IN REDUCING. RECOVERED HER FIGURE WITH KRUSCHEN. Seven months ago, this young woman received a nasty shock. She discovered that her weight was 13 st. 8 lbs.—and she was only twenty-five! No wonder she nearly fainted when she saw what the scales registered. Her discovery of a reducing treatment that worked like magic is best told in her own words:— “I am twenty-five years old, and sft. 6 ins. tall. Three years ago, I started to gain weight at an alarming rate. I did not realize how much weight I had actually gained (as I had become very shy of scales) until last August, when curiosity got th; better of me, and looking round so that nobody should see me I got on a scale—and I nearly fainted. I weighed exactly 13 st. 8 lbs. “I tried dieting—but what I lost one week I would gain ihe next (sometimes with interest). So I experimented with various remedies. Eventually I took Kruschen and at the same time modified my diet. This method worked like magic. I am now down to 10 st. 10 lbs., a loss of 40 lbs. in seven months.”—(Miss) J.W. Kruschen combats the cause of fat by assisting the internal organs to perform their functions properly—to throw off each day those waste products and poisons which, if allowed to accumulate, will be converted by the body’s chemistry into fatty tissue. Kruschen Salts do not reduce you overnight, as so many products claim to do. But taken regularly over a period of time—with a modified diet and gentle exercise, half-a-teaspoonful in a glass of hot water every morning before breakfast will take away unhealthy flesh and restore your figure to its normal weight. Kruschen Salts is obtainable at all Chemists and Stores at 2/6 per bottle.

The greetings of the citizens were conveyed by the Deputy-Mayor (Mr G. J. Reed) to the Fijian women’s hockey team when it was entertained at luncheon at Invercargill yesterday by the Southland Women’s Hockey Association. The visitors, who were motored from Gore by their hosts, were welcomed on their arrival by Mr J. H. Holland (president) and the executive of the association. In the absence of the Mayor (Mr John Miller) in Christchurch, Mr Reed formally welcomed the Fijians and said he hoped that their stay in Invercargill, though only a brief one, would be most enjoyable. Mr Holland said it was regretted that the Southland Association could not have arranged a match, but the main difficulty was in obtaining Rugby Park for the fixture. The manager and captain respectively of the visiting team, Mrs J. M. Harvie and Miss L. Sutherland, acknowledged the welcome, and Mr G. C. Hamilton (president of the Eastern Association) alsc returned thanks. A native chorus by the Fijians added to the success of the function.
