CIVIC BAND
CORONATION CARNIVAL. The coronation carnival of the Invercargill Civic Band was continued in Victoria Hall last evening. There was a large crowd present to witness a display of dancing by the pupils of Miss Kathleen Derbie, to spend money on anything from cushions to cigarettes and generally to enjoy itself. The stallholders were as follow: Central Princess, Mesdames W. Wright, N. Watts and G. Braxton; North Princess, Mesdames B. N. Spence, A. C. Bocock, N. Cavanagh, E. J. Morgan and J. J. Stott; South Princess, Mesdames N. R. Hoffman, G. Perry, C. Davis, G. Tuson, M. Thomson, T. Withington, T. Carter, Jensen and J. Foley. The results of the various competitions were as follow: South Princess, cordials, Colin Davis, ' Tweed street; golliwog, “Peter Pan,” Centre street; 50 cigarettes, A.8.C.; Central Princess, half ton of Linton coal, M. F. Petrie, Teviot street; half ton of Wairaki coal, Mrs Nelson, Robertson street; 50 cigarettes, “Joe,” c/o Mrs Caulfield; North Princess, box of chocolates, Mr Kissell, c/o Tramways Department; iced cake, B. N. Steward.
