Belgium has taken a lead in controlling advertisement hoardings. The decree is the work of the new Minister of Public Works, Monsieur de Man. Hoardings may in future be erected only in places 500 yards from roads and railway lines. Cross-roads are specially protected, and, above; all, the beauty spots of Belgium are protected from all such desecrations.
