GAOL FOR THE TRUTH
“Do away with ink and pens, but write your correspondence just the same.” This was the circular that went to thousands of business firms in Italy from Andrea Battelli, of Rome. With the circular was the direction to send for instructions to Battelli, and also send postage stamps worth Bd. Those who sent the money—and there were hundreds of replies—received the following reply: “Use a pencil, you fool!” Battelli is now in gaol.
