SUCCESSFUL EVENING TOURNAMENT
Teams from Nightcaps, Riverton, Orawia and Ohai played in a successful basketball tournament at Ohai. In the senior women’s section Ohai A had little difficulty in winning. The junior women’s final was won by Nightcaps by 7 goals to 6. In the men’s section Riverton A had little difficulty in winning. Results:-—
Women’s senior section.—Ohai A 6 v. Riverton A 2; Western Star 6 v. Riverton A 5. Final: Ohai A 9 v. Western Star 6.
Women’s Junior Section.—First rounds: Riverton A 6 v. Ohai A 1; Riverton B 6 v. Ohai B 4; Ohai C 10 v. Riverton C 0. Nightcaps a bye. Second round: Riverton A 7 v. Riverton B 2; Nightcaps 7 v. Ohai C 4. Final: Nightcaps 7 v. Riverton A 6. Men’s Section.—First round: Ohai Football B 7 v. Ohai Tennis 1; Riverton B 6 v. Ohai Football A 4. Riverton A a bye. Second round: Riverton A 7 v. Ohai Football B 3; Riverton B a bye. Final: Riverton A 2 v. Riverton B 1.
