SHIP REPORTED SUNK

VESSEL REACHES PORT. (United Press Association.) Wellington, May 22. After having been reported sunk in Nantucket Sound and all hands rescued, the Canadian National steamer Canadian Planter is now reported to have reached Boston 16 days after the supposed sinking. A message from New York on May 3 stated that the Canadian Planter had collided with the British steamer City of Auckland and she sank almost immediately. The crew of 35 were taken aboard the City of Auckland. Now the Wellington office of the Canadian National Steamship Company has received a cable from the head office at Montreal that the Canadian Planter reached Boston on Tuesday in a damaged condition. No mention was made of where she had been in the meantime nor of how she obtained a new crew. It is thought that when the fog cleared it was found that the Canadian Planter was still afloat and some temporary repairs were made in the Sound.
