SWEPT OFF ROCKS
Man And Wo ; an Drowned
(United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 12.10 a.m.) Sydney, May 24. A man and a woman, unidentified, were washed off the cliffs near Bronte to-day and drowned. It is believed that the man was fishing, and the woman was looking on from a higher ledge. The man was engulfed by a wave. A strong swimmer, he tried for half an hour to reach the rocks, watched by people on top of the cliff powerless to aid him. Finally he waved farewell and sank. The woman descended the rocks and apparently tried to seize the man. She was swept into the sea.
