BIBLE SOCIETY
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Invercargill branch of the Bible Society of Otago and Southland was held in the Tudor Lounge yesterday afternoon. The president, the Rev. C. J. Tocker, was in the chair.
Mr C. J. Longuet, hon. treasurer, presented the financial statement which showed collections of £93 18/0 for the year. He hoped to have been able to hand £lOO to the parent society, but fell a few pounds short. However, this coming year it was hoped that £2OO would be given. Miss Ramsay, of Dunedin, organizing secretary, spoke of the special need of this work in the world and told what was. being done. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows:—President, Mr W. R. Naim; vice-presidents, Messrs J. S. Baxter, D. J. Miller and W. Dobie; hon. treasurer, Mr C. J. Lonquet; hon. secretary, Mr Arthur Scott,
