Miss M. Dickson, Queenstown, is visiting her parents, Mr and Mrs G. L. Dickson, South Riverton. Mrs J. Forsyth is spending a holiday in Queenstown. Mrs A. Castles, Invercargill, is visiting her mother, Mrs G. Stevenson, Havelock street. Mrs Cantrell, who has been the guest of Mr and Mrs A. D. Angus, has returned to Dunedin. Miss Fletcher, Invercargill, is visiting Riverton. Mr and Mrs W. Elder, Roxburgh, are at the Rocks. Mrs W. H. Woodward, Invercargill, is spending a holiday at Riverton. Mrs D. Sloan and her daughter, of Otautau, who have been staying at the Rocks, have returned home. Mrs Rattray, of Drummond, returned home during the week. Mr and Mrs T. R. Abercrombie, accompanied by Miss Anthea Abercrombie, left on Friday to take up residence in Lower Hutt, where Mr Abercrombie has been appointed to the managership of the National Bank of New Zealand. Isabel Ritchie, infant mistress of Riverton District High School, has been appointed to the Waikiwi School and leaves shortly to take up her new duties- , , „ ~ Mr and Mrs James Fleck, South Riverton, have returned from a holiday at Stewart Island. Miss Esme McNeil is spending a holiday in the north. Miss Borland has returned after a holiday at Stewart Island. Mr and Mrs S. W. Howarth (Dunedin), Miss A. Porteous (Dunedin), Miss Bly th (Oamaru), Miss Grace Charlton (Timaru), Mrs G. Gilchrist (Timaru) .and Mr and Mrs Simpson and daughter (Auckland) are among the recent arrivals at de Clifford’s Hotel. Mrs Charles Frew and her son, of Fortrose, are visiting Mr and Mrs Frank Church, South Riverton. Mrs Parmenter and family, of Invercargill, have been visiting Mrs N. Bailey, South Riverton. Mrs J. Winton, who has been spending a holiday in the Catlins district, has returned home. Mrs Trembath, sen., leaves for Gore this week where she will take up residence. During her stay at Riverton she always assisted any deserving cause and social function. Last week she received several parting gifts from friends. Mr and Mrs W. Robertson, Dunedin, who have been visiting the district, returned home on Sunday. Mr and Mrs A. J. Stout and their family, of Wellington, have taken up residence at Riverton. Mr Stout has been appointed manager of the local branch of the National Bank. The territorial dance, held in Fleck’s Hall, was well attended and proved a most enjoyable one. The Syncopators’ orchestra supplied the music, while Mr R. Hunter carried out the duties of M.C. Among the many present were the following: Mesdames S. Ward (Invercargill), M. Maley, S.
