LUCKY WOMAN
PRIZE OF £12,000. BALCLUTHA RESIDENT. (Per United Press Association.) Dunedin, December 17. It has been ascertained that the first prize winner in Tattersall’s 39th consultation of £12,000 is Mrs Grace Gould wife of the Clutha County engineer, Balclutha. This is the first time Mrs Gould has won a substantial prize in Tattersall’s, although five years ago she won a £lO prize. Asked by an Otago Daily Times representative what she intended doing now that she had won such a large sum of money, she replied: “I really don’t know. It seems too good to be true and I can hardly realize it yet.” Her husband, Mr Gould, who was much less excited, merely remarked, “Wait’till the numbers go up.”
