HEAVY FIRE DAMAGE
EIGHT BUILDINGS BURNED. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) Sydney, December 16. Eight buildings in the centre of the town of Mangindi were destroyed by fire last night, while other premises were saved by the strenuous efforts of a bucket brigade of 200 men and by fire breaks made by demolishing some of the houses. The damage is estimated at about £5OOO.
