EASTERN SOUTHLAND YESTERDAY’S MATCHES The Eastern Southland mid-week cricket competition was continued yesterday in rough weather conditions. Results are as follows:— GORE B DEFEAT PUKERAU. On the hostel grounds Gore B defeated Pukerau by a substantial margin of runs, the latter team being two players short Gore B batted first and scored 111 runs (J. Currie 37). F. Edwards secured five wickets for 2.9 runs. Pukerau secured the small total of 44 runs. D. Edwards, with 17, secured the highest score. Several Gore bowlers shared honours.
