Ip — p) ' ’ (y ~p) I The New Zealand Banking System The New Zealand banking system is based on the British system which has proved its worth through the years and especially during the recent depression. The six trading banks have over 500 branches and .agencies throughout the Dominion ready to provide necessary banking facilities to all sections of the community. This system has enabled New Zealand to weather the world depression better than many other countries, and throughout the depression depositors in the New Zealand trading banks have never had a moment of worry about the safety of their money. To-day the banks have the confidence of the people to such an extent that they hold deposits to the value of £61,000,000. The banks are well equipped to meet the reasonable financial requirements of firms and individuals in any part of the Dominion. The share holdings of the banks are widely spread throughout the community.
