(From Our Correspondent.) Ideal weather prevailed for the opening match of the competition games, when a team from the Tapanui Club met the local eleven at Pukerau last Wednesday afternoon. Sharp took seven wickets for 21 runs, A. McDonald two for 16, J. Edwards one for 6. Pukerau. J. McDonald not out 100 Jack Edwards lbw b Grace 0 A. McDonald b Herbert 23 J. Lauren b Cuttriss 1 J. Murray b Herbert 1 J. F. Edwards run out 7 J. Sharp retired 17 E.
