Mixture clover, ryegrass, cocksfoot 4d lb. WYNDHAM STOCK SALE. Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd., report:—A larger yarding of sheep than is usual for this sale. Included in the fat section were some good quality fat ewes which sold well up to rates ruling at other centres. Wethers easied to the extent of 3/- from last sale. There was a good yarding of ewes and lambs, but prices showed an easing tendency. Shorn wether hoggets realized from 13/1 to 18/9.

The exceptionally heavy yarding of fat cattle resulted in a drop of about £3 per head on last sale’s sensational values. Store cattle were also easier. Dairy cows and heifers sold at late rates, good young sorts being in demand. We offered on account of Messrs F. and W. Muir, their annual draft of two-year Friesian heifers. There was a spirited demand for these and the whole line realized the satisfactory average of £7 13/6, top price being £8 17/6.

We sold:—Sheep: 20 fat ewes at 29/9, 6 do at 25/-, 17 do at 24/3, 21 fat wethers at 30/-, 30 wether hoggets at 18/9, 61 do at 15/6, 62 do at 13/1, 98 ewes and lambs 13/3, 133 do at 12/6, 61 do at 11/10.
