CRUISER SYDNEY
PLACED AT DISPOSAL OF ADMIRALTY. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) London, November 1. The Admiralty announces that the Government has accepted the Commonwealth’s offer to place the cruiser Sydney at its disposal. The Sydney, therefore, will , temporarily relieve the Achilles in the second cruiser squadron of the Home Fleet, which is now at Gibraltar. The Sydney will now be unable to reach Australia on December 24 as arranged. Her stay in the Mediterranean depends on the international situation.
