February — GENERAL NOTES. The Te Pegasus arrived with passengers from Stewart Island at 8.15 a.m. on Saturday. She sailed again to return to the Island at 1.20 p.m. the same day. The Shell Oil Company’s motor ship Paua arrived early on Saturday morning from Wellington with case and bulk oil. On completion of discharge she loads casemaking timber and sails to-morrow again for Wellington. The Union Company’s steamer Kalingo reached Bluff from Melbourne on Saturday morning. After working general cargo she sailed late the same afternoon for Dunedin. The Commonwealth and Dominion Line steamer Port Caroline finished her Southland loading for the London market on Friday and sailed shortly before 6.0 a.m. on Saturday for Timaru. The Waimarino sailed from Auckland at 9.30 p.m. on Friday for Wellington. Lyttelton, Dunedin and Bluff. She is due here on Thursday and sails the same day for Dun"din. „ The Marama is expected to leave Milford at 10.0 a.m. on Thursday for Bluff via Miiford Sound. It is hoped to berth the vessel on Monday morning. She sails later in the day for Dunedin, Lyttelton and Wellington. The Waipiata leaves Auckland next Friday for Bluff via northern ports. She is due here on the 14th from Dunedin and sails the same day for Dunedin. For ten successive weeks London’s shipping has aggregated over one million net register tons. During the week ended September 13, 1388 vessels, representing 1,060,489 net register tons, used the Port of London. Of these 585 vessels (828,975 net register tons) were to and from Empire and Foreign ports and 803 vessels (231,514 net register tons) were engaged in coastwise traffic. The arrivals included seven meat cargoes, viz. five from Australia and New Zealand and, two from South America, comprising 132.000 carcasses of lamb and

The vessel is expected to reach Auckland at daybreak on November 28, and she is to sail for Sydney the same day. . , , The tanker Garonne, which is en route from Batum, Russia, to New Zealand with a cargo of petrol, will now unload her cargo at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin in that order, instead of making Auckland her last discharging port, as was formerly scheduled. The London Office of the Blue Star Line have cabled to Blue Star Line (N.Z.) Ltd-. Wellington, that the Dunedin Star was safely launched on October 29 at Camel Laird's yards, Birkenhead, by Lady Ermund Vestey. The Dunedin Star is one of toe six new motor vessels built, and building, for the Blue Star Line New Zealand and Australian trades. The three new motor vessels already in commission are the Imperial Star. New Zealand Star and Australian Star and were built at the yards of Harland and Wolff. Belfast. The Dunedin Star is of a similar type to the New Zealand Star, but will have some additional improvements in her equipment and layout and is expected to be even faster than the New Zealand Star class.
