SCHOOL PUPILS’ SUCCESS. At a recent show held in Springburn, Ashburton district, North Canterbury, the pupils of the Hedgehope School, Southland, obtained six first prizes, seven second prizes and five third prizes out of 12 classes entered for in school work. The prizes were as follows: Writing, primers: Nancy Murchison 1, Eveline Coster 2. Writing, St. 3 and 4: Dick Proctor 1, Oswald Baxter 2, Stewart Sharp 3. Writing, F. I and F. II: Isabel Jukes and Gladys Thomas 3 equal. Drawing, primers: Isabel Murchison 1, Eveline Coster 2. Drawing, Stds. 3 and 4: George Wilson 2. Crayon drawing, primers: Isabel Murchison 3. Crayon drawing, Std. 1,2, 3: Isabel McEachern 3. Monochrome work, F. II: Isabel Jukes 1, Don Jukes 2. Painting, F. II: Don Jukes 1, Gladys Thomas and Isobel Jukes 2 equal.
