Helen Wills-Moody announced that she will not play in the National Championships at Forest Hills. The tournament at Wimbledon and the journey was an effort, another trip would be more than she felt she was able to undertake at this time. CASINO TOURNAMENT BUDGE WINS FINAL. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 6.30 p.m.) New York, August 16. At Newport (Rhode Island) in the Casino tennis tournament, Budge defeated Grant, 8-6, 6-4, 6-1, and Shields defeated Parker, 6-3, 6-3, 6-4. Budge won the title by defeating Shields, 6-3, 5-7, 3-6, 8-6, 6-1.
