AMATEUR FOURSOMES TITLE.
TIE FOR FIRST PLACE.
(United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 12.5 a.m.) Adelaide, August 19. The Australian amateur foursomes golf championship was played at Seaton to-day over 36 holes. Fourteen pairs took part and the result was a tie between W. Rymill and W. Ackland Horman (South Australia), 71-78—149. and Ross Sawers and R. Crook (South Australia), 75-74—149. The former title-holders, M. Ryan and A. W. Jackson (Victoria) were runners-up with 74- —l5O. H. Hattersley and C. Nigel Smith (New South Wales) with 77-78 — 155 were next. Rymill, who is the State champion, and Horman beat par by two strokes in the first round, the former sinking phenomenal putts. A professional competition over 36 holes for a purse of £3l was won by W. Bolger (New South Wales) with 75BRITISH WOMEN’S TEAM EASY WINS AT ADELAIDE. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.)
