The building consisted of a temporary bar and storeroom, and it is understood that Mr Green succeeded in getting the till out before the structure was destroyed. ♦ * * * Tree-planting at Ocean Beach. An extensive tree-planting scheme is in operation at the Ocean Beach Freezing Company’s works, where the necessary fences have already been erected to protect the pines through their early growth. On Wednesday the actual planting was begun'in the presence of Sir Robert Anderson, who planted the first tree. The management intends to grow several hundred pinus muricata in a long line between the residences near the works and the back beach, and in years to come they should provide excellent shelter against the prevailing westerly winds and at the same time make an attractive background for the residential quarter. —Bluff correspondent. ♦ * * * Programme for Ministerial Visit.
