GIFT EVENING. (From Our Correspondent.) There was a large gathering of residents of Te Tipua and Waimumu districts as well as well-wishers from Gore in Mr A. O. Ross’s barn, Te Tipua, on Friday evening last when a gift evening was tendered Miss Alice Ross in view of her approaching marriage. The proceedings took the form of a social and dance, special numbers being won by Miss Goodwin and Mr R. Bishop (statue waltz) and Miss Copland and Mr Cook (lucky spot waltz). Mr W. J. Sheehan, on behalf of those present, conveyed to the guest the best wishes for her happiness and asked her acceptance of a large assortment of useful household gifts.
