SIAMESE POLITICS
MYSTERY MAN’S GOODWILL TOUR. SENSATIONAL STORIES DENIED. (United Press Assn. —Telegraph Copyright.) Singapore, August 12. Luang Pradit, the so-called mystery man of Siamese politics, has arrived at Singapore under a strong guard of special police. Interviewed, Pradit confirmed the report that he is making a goodwill tour of the world in the interests of Siam. He denied having been banished.
The last time Pradit passed through Singapore was in 1933, when he was going into banishment after accusations of Communism, but since his recall he has achieved the highest positions in the Siam Government and is now Minister for the Interior.
Pradit said: “I want to deny all the sensational stories circulating at present. The arrest of fifteen non-com-missioned officers in the army scotched the insurrection plot. There is no longer any danger of a rising against the Government. I am going to Berne to interview the boy King and to discuss arrangements for his return to Bangkok for the coronation.”
