WOMEN TEACHERS
MEETING OF ASSOCIATION.
A meeting of the Women Teachers’ Association was held yesterday afternoon when Miss E. B. Pay presided over a good attendance. The secretary reported that the luncheon held on June 29 had been most successful in every way and had been attended by 55 teachers. The thanks of the committee were due to Miss Mackay, Menzies Ferry, Miss Humphreys, Dryburgh school, and Mr A. Cook, Rimu, in particular for comprehensive displays of handiwork; and to Miss V. Holdsworth for collecting and delivering these goods. Twentytwo members had been enrolled, that day, among whom were two rationed teachers. It was decided to remind rationed teachers that they might become full members of the association on payment of an annual fee of one shilling. ■ It was decided to hold a complimentary luncheon as a farewell to Miss C. H. Mackay, who is leaving the profession, on Saturday, August 3, and to invitS all women teachers whether members of the association or not, to attend. Arrangements were left in the hands of the president and the secretary.
