PROPERTY DEAL
WAREHOUSE SOLD. AUCKLAND BUSINESS. (Per United Press Association.) Auckland, July 19. Within a few minutes, the warehouse of P. Hayman and Company, Customs street east, was sold at public auction to the Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd., the price being £BO5O. The opening bid was for £6500, the price rising quickly by amounts of £250 and then by amounts of £lOO to £BOOO. A rise of £5O closed the transaction, the general opinion being that an excellent property had been obtained fox- a favourable price. The warehouse, which has road access at the back, is only 60 yards from Queen street. The building, which is of brick, comprises four storeys and a basement. The property, which has a frontage of 99 feet to Customs street east, is held on lease froixx the Auckland Harbour Board for a term expiring in 1948 at an annual rental of £370. With half compensation for building at the end of the lease, a new lease caxx be obtained if desired. _______
