WONDERS OF WIRELESS
FIRST RADIO CONSULTING ROOM. The first wireless medical consulting room in the world will be opened shortly in Rome. When the scheme is completed it will be possible for any doctor in any part of the world to receive the advice of the finest Italian specialists on urgent cases requiring expert knowledge, simply by sending a radio S.O.S. At any hour of the day or night relays of doctors will be on duty to maintain the service. It is hoped that other world centres of medicine will follow Rome’s example so that a great chain of radio consulting rooms can be established throughout the world that will enable thousands of lives to be saved. When the new station opens a wireless medical invention will come into use for the first time. It is the work o' the famous Italian specialist Professor Pende, of Genoa. It consists of two instruments, a transmitting and receiving radio apparatus, by means of which the heart and pulse beats and action of the lungs can be transmitted over any distance.
