MINISTER’S DENIAL.

Auckland, July 19,
“I have not discussed it at all and am unable to say anything about it,” said the Hon. A. Hamilton ActingMinister of Finance, in referring to a suggested alteration in the electoral laws.
A message from Wellington published yesterday said that political circles were 'reely discussing the possibility of an alteration in the laws before next election, involving a change to some system of preferential voting. The Minister added that the matter had never been discussed f irmally by Cabinet, although there had been, a good deal of talk about it in the newspaper*
