ENGINEERING SCHOOL
AUCKLAND INSTITUTION. RAISING OF ENDOWMENT FUND. (Per United Press Association.) Auckland, June 17. The result of a campaign in which he has recently been engaged to raise an endowment fund sufficient to save the existence of the Auckland School of Engineering, was reported to the University College Council by Mr S. I. Crookes. The sum that was required was £20,000 and Mr Crookes was able to report that he had secured conditional promises totalling £6lOO. There were several other promises that might come forward yet, he said.
