TWO MEN DROWNED.
POLICE ASSIST OTHERS.
(United Press Assn—Telegraph Copyright.) New York, June 16.
Seven men anxious to secure a close view of Rear-Admiral Byrd’s expedition boat, the Jacob Ruppert, which is anchored in Jamaica Bay, rented a rowboat and when about 100 feet from the shore the craft capsized. Two who were unable to swim were drowned, while the others made theft way to the shore with the aid of the police. The Jacob Ruppert came with three of the expedition’s aeroplanes from Boston for exhibition here.
