EMPIRE BROADCAST
SERVICE IN CANTERBURY CATHEDRAL.

The Dominion Premiers and prelates, including the Archbishop) of Melbourne, and representatives of the Empire crowded the nave of Canterbury Cathedral at the first service broadcast throughout the Empire which began with the pealing of bells, and the Royal Engineers’ Band playing Homeland airs.
The Primate read a message from the Prince of Wales, recalling recollections of visits throughout the Empire. Afterwards 92 bronze crosses were dedicated for distribution among Empire cathedrals and also New York and San Francisco.
