Rain fell at the luncheon adjournment and the match between the South African cricketers and Glamorgan was abandoned as a draw. After three wickets had fallen rapidly Smart enabled Glamorgan to make a remarkable recovery by bold and spectacular hitting. Hughes, playing for the first time for Glamorgan, assisted in the brilliant display. The pair scored 100 in 45 minutes.
