SILVER RATIO
POSITION IN AMERICA.
(United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) Washington, June 11. Mr Henry Morgenthau, Secretary of the Treasury, announced that the United States Treasury for the ten months ended May 31 acquired 421,495,000 ounces of silver, or 265,000,000 ounces more than the total world production during that period. The statement shows that the Treasury is still more than two billion dollars short of the silver ratio of 25-75 to gold, provided under the Silver Purchase Act.
