The Tamatea sailed at 10.15 a.m. yesterday for Stewart Island, and returned to Bluff, berthing at 4.50 p.m. The Walkouaiti now leaves Lyttelton today and is due at Bluff to-morrow evening. She sails on Saturday for Sydney. The Kaimiro was to leave Lyttelton at 6 p.m. yesterday for Dunedin and Bluff. She is due here to-morrow afternoon and sails on Saturday for Greymouth. The Walpiata sails from Auckland tomorrow afternoon for Wellington, Lyttelton. Dunedin and Bluff. She is due at Bluff on the 20th and sails the same day for Dunedin. The Ruahine sailed from Panama on the

afternoon of June 9. She is due at . Wellington on July 11. The Royal Mail liner Maunganui cleared San Francisco on June 5 for Wellington and Sydney, via Papeete and Rarotonga. She is due at Wellington on June 24. The Admiralty tanker Nucula left Auckland on May 31 for Suva, where she will refuel H.M.S. Dunedin. She will then proceed to San Francisco to load oil fuel and will refuel the Dunedin and Diomede in the course of their island cruises, returning to Auckland early in August. Work on the largest amount of naval tonnage to be in hand at any one time during the last seven years will shortly be under way in British yards. This is due to the overlapping of programmes owing to past delays for reasons of economy.
