NAVAL CLAIM
GERMAN PROPORTION 35 PER CENT. OF BRITISH FLEET ' FAVOURABLE RECEPTION (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 7.10 p.m.) London, June 12. The Daily Herald says the British Government has-agreed to Germany s naval claim for 35 per cent, of the British Navy provided the proportion will apply not to total tonnage but to each type, and that the building programme is spread over a number of years so that there will be no advantage in new ships over old. Finally, the agreement is subject to approval by the other naval Powers. The Daily Telegraph understands the United States has no objection, but the French attitude is less complaisant. Italy is likely to be sympathetic. Cabled advice from Tokio states that Japan has no objection.
