OHAI NOTES
LODGE BALL. (From Our Correspondent.) There was a large and happy gathering at the Ohai public hall on Friday evening when the members of the R.A.0.8. Lodge held their annual plain and fancy dress masked ball. The hall was beautifully decorated for the occasion and much credit is due to the energetic committee for the excellent arrangements. The Ambassadors Dance Band was in attendance, while extras were played by Miss M. Raper and Mr R. Heller. Mr C. Cousins made' an efficient M.C. Mesdames G. C. Wilson, C. Baineaves and R. Brown were the judges of the fancy costumes and declared the winners as follows: Ladies, Miss Sylvia Thompson (Spanish lady)' 1, Miss R. Walsh, Nightcaps (butterfly) 2, Miss Rita Grant, Nightcaps (Chinese lady) 3. Men, Mr A. Dixon (Mexican) 1, Mr H. Ferguson (Spaniard) 2, Mr J. Purdue (Chinaman) 3. The various novelty dances were wort: as follows: Statue dance, Mrs Sheehan 1 and Mr E. Sheehan; balloon dance, Miss: Mary Wilson and Mr W. Thomson;! Monte Carlo dance, Miss Allen and partner.
