A character song “Our Institute” was rendered by several members in various national costumes. The song was composed by a member and sung to the tune of “Auld Lang Syne.” Following these items the birthday cake donated and baked by Mrs W. Millar and tastefully decorated by Miss P. Millar, was displayed on the stage. Mrs Brash lit the two candles. Mrs Newman, first president of the branch, cut the cake. Supper, supplied by the members was then handed round after which the floor was cleared for dancing. Music was supplied for the dance by Miss Gerkin, Mr G. P. Cross. Miss Morris and Mr G. Cross, Miss A. Ischica and Mr D. Ford were the winners of the lucky spot waltzes. Tire monthly meeting of the Knapdale branch of the P.W.M.U: was held in the Sunday School Hall. There was a good attendance of members, Mrs Hannah presiding. The meeting was opened by the singing of a hymn, prayer and bible reading. Afternoon tea was then handed round, the hostesses being Miss Elsa Wilson and Mrs S. Graham. The singing of a hymn brought a very pleasant afternoon to a close.

Mrs W. Millar has returned from a short visit to her sister, Miss K. Robertson, Otama. Mr W. Gardyne was a recent visitor to Dunedin.
