TWO SHIPS AGROUND
BOTH ON GREYMOUTH BAR. REFLOATING ATTEMPTS FAIL. (Per United Press Association.) Greymouth, June 10. The Union Company’s cargo ships Omana and Kiwitea are both aground on the bar. Strenuous efforts were made to-day to free the vessels, but so far success has not attended the operations. At high tide to-morrow further endeavours will be made to get the vessels afloat. The Union Company’s powerful tug Terawhiti is proceeding to Greymouthfrom Wellington.
