Dale Collins has a new novel “The Mutiny of Madam Yes” with Harrap. Mervyn Davies, author of a new biography of Warren Hastings, is the son of Sir Alfred Davies, formerly Permanent Secretary of the Welsh Department in the British Board of Education. Jonathan Cape is publishing “Arnold Bennett: A Portrait Done at Home” by Dorothy Cheston Bennett, who includes in the volume a selection of 170 letters ■written by him .
