GORE CLOTHING CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Gore Clothing Club was held on Thursday, the Mayor (Mr A. T. Newman) presiding over a good attendance. In moving the adoption of the annual report (already published), the chairman said that a considerable amount of work had been carried out during the year. A good response had been received from the public to requests for assistance.Mr Newman said he noted that the Invercargill Sixpenny Club had given assistance at the rate of 18 parcels a month. At Gore there were many more parcels than this being distributed by the club so that it could be seen that there was a heavy draw on the resources. However, the club had met with a generous response when it had appealed to the public and he felt certain that this would again be forthcoming. The report was adopted. Mr A. T. Newman was re-elected president. The following general committee was elected: Mesdames Peterson, Fleming, Glasson, G. Peterson, F. S. Graham, A. A. Mac Gibbon and Miss Mac Gibbon. An executive was appointed comprising Mesdames Fleming, Bannerman, Glasson, Peterson. Mi- T. Brown was re-elected secretary and treasurer.
